Investment Incentives in Türkiye — What Support Can Your Company Claim?

Türkiye operates one of the most extensive incentive systems among emerging markets, with more than twenty support instruments spanning tax, employment, financing and land. Here is the map.

Last reviewed: August 2026

The main incentive schemes

What the instruments actually give you

InstrumentEffect
VAT exemptionNo VAT on qualifying machinery, equipment and construction
Customs duty exemptionDuty-free import of qualifying investment goods
Corporate tax reductionReduced or zero CIT until a support cap is used up
Social security premium supportState covers employer (and in some regions employee) SSI shares
Interest / profit-share supportSubsidised financing costs for eligible loans
Land allocationState land allocated for qualifying investments
Qualified personnel wage supportWage contributions for skilled staff, up to five years

Technology development zones (technoparks)

Software and R&D companies located in a technopark enjoy corporate income tax exemption on qualifying software/R&D income and income-tax withholding support for R&D personnel — which is why a large share of Türkiye's software exporters are technopark residents. For a foreign software founder, a technopark seat combined with export-income advantages can reduce the effective tax burden dramatically.

Free zones

Free zone companies enjoy exemptions on corporate income tax for manufacturing profits, VAT and customs advantages, and income tax exemption for employees when export thresholds are met. They suit export-oriented manufacturing and international trading models.

Practical note. Incentives are claimed through an investment incentive certificate and require correct structuring before the spend is made. If you are planning capex, secure the certificate first — retroactive claims are generally not possible.
